In 2024 pianist Maxime Snaterse and I perform our song recital ONTSPANNING and our newest program, Aurore for the Vrienden van het Lied (Dutch Song Society).
Our newest programme Aurore is focused around the atmospheric changes that occur from dusk until dawn. Featuring A charm of lullabies – B. Britten, Rückertlieder – Mahler and Six romances op. 38 – Rachmaninoff. ONTSPANNING features the Wesendoncklieder – Wagner, 2 songs op. 76 by Amy Beach and Fêtes galantes – Debussy and more.

Irene has been selected as one of the contestants at the Belvedère Competition in Jurmala, Latvia.
She was selected after performing Wagner- Dich, teure Halle (Tannhäuser), and Menotti – To This we’ve come (The consul).
Her competition arias are:
Soprano soloist at the Opera Sing-Along at Opera op de Parade, Den Bosch; with works by Verdi, Puccini and Catalani.

Verhalen spinnen over vrouwen van weleer tot heden, dat is waar EER(S)T DE DAME voor staat.
Mijn spiksplinternieuwe serie opera’s, Nederlandstalig geschreven tekst op nieuwe muziek, zijn zowel vocaal als visueel extravagant! Ze zitten vol vrolijkheid, bravoure, spanning, sensatie, dialect en taalgrappen maar ook wanhoop en doodsangst komen naderbij.
Vandaag hoor je de “Dit is Emma!”: het verhaal van onze ‘vergeten’ Koningin. Op jonge leeftijd komt zij aan het roer van Nederland te staan, met haar 10-jarige dochter Wilhelmina als toekomstige vorstin.
