On June 6 we premiered the opera Il re Lear by Loek van der Heide. This project is based on the Italian project *Per Il Re Lear*, as published by musicologist Gary Schmidgall (1985). Composer Loek van der Heide drew upon Verdi’s compositional style from around 1855. He used the Cammarano/Somma libretto (version 2) authorized by the Fondazione Istituto Nazionale Studi Verdiani (Parma, Italy).
I sang the role of Cordelia, King Lear’s third daughter and a soprano assoluta role.
