Ever since the opera industry has become more digital, every singer needs recordings of their audition repertoire. In order to apply for auditions, competitions or even to show colleagues and friends, it is necessary for singers to showcase their best stuff online. And while the process isn’t the most confortable (there is no audience to interact with, no room for error as everything will be heard AND no post-production/editing is allowed, finding a venue/pianist/editor can be difficult and expensive) I recently made some lovely recordings with pianist Amy Chang in the Dutch National Opera, Amsterdam. It was so wonderful to work with her, a true collaboration in music! And of course I hope there will be an actual CD made with some killer operatic tunes, we’ll have to wait and see…
