In August 2021 I had the absolute pleasure of working in Bedum, a little village in the very North of the Netherlands.
The opera company there, Opera op ‘t Hogeland dared to create a new production of Cavalleria Rusticana.
With professional soloists and conductor/director, a well seasoned choir and an orchestra full of talent it had a lot of potential!
We managed to perform 3 out of 6 performances; corona took care of the rest.
It was a literal dream come true to perform Santuzza in this way. The romantic melodies pouring out from the musicians, directly into the countryside. A video impression can be found here!
